Body-Mind Therapy

Most diseases that we are experiencing today are actually not ‘diseases’ but an intelligent adaptive physiological response to ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS.

There are four main types of environmental stressors; physical, chemical, emotional and electromagnetic, and your body adapts to each of these. Being aware of how your environment can influence gene expression and how your relationship with your environment can steer you towards illness or health, will not only shift your perspective of optimum health but will empower you to transform and heal your life.

Being aware of your inner and outer environment is the key to optimum health

Epigenetics is the field of study that investigates how our inner and outer environment influence gene expression, where the ‘inner environment’ includes what you think, feel, belief and experience as an individual, and the ‘outer environment’ includes what you eat, drink, breathe and expose yourself to.

All these inner and outer environmental factors trigger a unique biochemistry, which will manifest as ‘healthy’ or ‘unhealthy’ gene expression. Researchers estimate that approximately 90% of all genes engage with signals from the environment. So instead of looking at the body as developing certain pathologies, we should rather look at the underlying environmental stressors – physical, chemical, emotional and electromagnetic – that are causing the body to respond intelligently.

Chemical toxicity as found in the food that we eat, the water that we drink and the air that we breathe, disturbs the delicate balance of the terrain in which our cells and microbes are living and growing. Equally important is to become aware of the nutritional quality of the food that you eat. Moving towards a raw plant-based diet will supply essential mineral, vitamins, phytonutrients, complex carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats and lots of fibre to support the microbiome and fight chronic disease.
